Thank you for visiting At School Without a Roof, my final capstone for the M.A. in Journalism from the University of Miami. The project's goal was to understand the phenomenon of homeless students and visualize it. But it also was understanding how inequality affects those who have less opportunities, especially when they are part of a minority. This story is focused on Florida, but it could be told in almost all the U.S. More than 1,300,000 students are in this dire situation, one that has long-term impact in their lives.
This project was possible thanks to the good advice provided by Alberto Cairo, Lynn Cherny and Jan Boehmer. They guided me through the whole process.
